Our Philosophy and Team
Justus Ewing
As the founder of Mountain City Recording Studio, Justus Ewing is a musician, technologist, carpenter and recording artist who leads with creativity and expertise. His role encompasses engineering, production, composition and session planning, ensuring that every artist’s song is brought to life with honesty and effectiveness. Justus’ dedication to the craft is evident in his hands-on approach and his ability to connect with artists on a personal level.
Justus has been building internet companies for decades as well. As a web developer and digital marketing consultant, Justus helps artists, promoters and venues connect, collaborate and grow. What he brings to the table as a digital engineer and distribution consultant are also very valuable to our community. Justus also owns an internet development company and a manufacturing company that are both leveraged towards the studio.
Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Drummer Extraordinaire
Todd Bryerton
Todd Bryerton is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and touring musician with more than four decades of experience performing, recording, and collaborating across a wide range of musical styles. Since 1981 he has participated in more than 75 music projects spanning bands, studio sessions, theater productions, and improvisational ensembles.
A drummer at his core with extended proficiency in midi composition and vocals, Todd has toured internationally and across North America, including multiple tours with the San Francisco–based band Consolidated. His experience across genres—from rock and jazz fusion to funk, hip hop, and electronic music—brings both versatility and depth to the recording process. At Mountain City Recording Studio, Todd helps artists shape their performances with a focus on groove, structure, and musical authenticity.
